We are the best
thing going for the individual that wants to
become a model/actor who does not already think
they know everything.
The lies and
myths of this industry in our community are:
1.
You are too short to model.
2.
That some agency is going to teach you all
you need to know if they want you.
3.
You should wait to be discovered.
4.
The biggest agencies will find you immediate
work.
5.
Nothing in this industry should cost you any
money if someone wants you to model, they
should pay all your modeling tools and
expenses out of your paid gigs.
WHAT YOU MUST UNDERSTAND ABOUT SOME OF THE BIG
AGENTS
They are
successfully placing top models that know what
they are doing as models. They may not be
willing to place new people who obviously know
very little about modeling.
Many live off
the fees they charge you for a typical photo
shoot ($500-$700) and the additional $700 they
charge you for COMP CARDS.
Some pay you 6
months or more after your paid gig because they
use your money as their income and pay you later
from the next model’s earnings.
Most agents warn
you against paying for professional modeling or
acting training saying they will show you all
that you need to know – that way they can have
your funds for their photography and comp
cards. And they will help you over a few years,
but, time is your enemy.
You will finally
know the business when you may be too old to
model.
Nearly every
agency gets the same calls at the same time for
big gigs.
At
Americas Print Models we can teach you
the fifty cent rule for applying for modeling
gigs. Your entire cost for applying for every
casting call can be less than half a dollar once
we explain it.
Height is mainly
an issue for high fashion and designer’s models.
Proportions, training, posing abilities, runway
techniques, wardrobe experience, make up
application techniques, auditioning experience,
slating techniques, all count toward getting
modeling work.
Photography is
very important and often worth whatever price
the best photographers charge, but you should
not be buying an expensive photo shoot until you
understand a bit more about it.
If you don’t
know how to apply photography make up, or how to
pose or what image size, resolution, dpi,
lighting solutions, pixel count will be involved
– good luck. This will result in the need for
yet another shoot once you know what you are
doing.
At APM we have the
solution to all of this. This is all solved with
a free educational INTERVIEW.
Always bring the
person to whom you feel you need to explain the
interview to, with you.
